Sheridan is a city in Sheridan County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 15,804 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Sheridan CountyGR6.

The racial makeup of the city was 95.93% White, 0.22% African American, 0.97% Native American, 0.46% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 0.85% from other races, and 1.37% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.64% of the population.

There were 7,005 households out of which 26.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.0% were married couples living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 42.0% were non-families. 35.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
